Leawood Baptist Church Goals

External Communication Goal

Communicate and promote LBC to our surrounding community within a three-mile radius of our Church (six ZIP Code zones), through mailings, flyers, community advertisement, and personal contacts. Focus on our Church's field of responsibility to reach and meet the needs within this three-mile radius.

Promotional materials will notify and invite our community to upcoming ministries or events and should be targeted to match our surrounding community demographics.

Internal Communication Goal

Communicate and promote LBC to all current members of our Church (active or inactive) about our purpose, goals, and opportunities for growth in discipleship through mailings and personal contacts.

Small Groups

LBC will train and convene small groups. The goal is to sustain or grow the number of small groups each year. These groups will be voluntary, and each will ideally be 8 to 10 people meeting regularly in places and times of the group's choosing. The Adult Discipleship Council will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and evaluation of small groups.

Spiritual Growth

Encourage every member of LBC to commit to spiritual growth during the next year by leading or participating in one of the following growth areas:
· Commitment to God
· Competent in the Word (Bible Study, Sunday School, Memorization)
· Competent in your Walk (Daily Devotionals, Fruit of the Spirit)
· Connected to the Body (Small Groups, Regular Attendance)
· Connected to the Lost or Un-churched (Evangelism, Visitation)
· Contributing (Time, Talents, Finances)

Outreach

Create a team follow-up system for Church visitors. Follow-up should take place within a few days of the visitor's initial Church visit. A member of the Team will drop by to thank the guest for visiting, perhaps with a gift, and answer any questions. Establish a tracking system to ensure visits are made and people are not missed.

Create a team to contact new members and evaluate what they need/want for spiritual nurturing to get them plugged into existing ministries (Sunday School, small group, ministries, etc.). Set up a tracking system to record contacts made.

100% of visitors and new members will be contacted within two weeks of their original visit/joining. The Deacons will be responsible for organizing and implementing this goal.

Personnel

Determine and prioritize leadership functions and their scope--document in job descriptions; network, recruit, interview, and hire within approved budget parameters; train the selected personnel to competently fill these positions. Review staff performance annually and re-evaluate staffing needs as required.

Review of Church Programs

Evaluate all Church programs and ministries in light of the Church's purpose statement. Make recommendations to the Church for continuation, enhancement, or termination of programs as needed.
